Exploring Healthy Restaurants Near Advanced Ambulatory Surgery Center

Altamonte Springs, FL is home to a variety of culinary options minutes from the AASC facility. Because AASC is an outpatient facility, oftentimes a patient's family member(s) or friends will be here for support and to make sure their loved one has transportation following surgery. There are a variety of procedures performed at AASC from spine surgery to injections. These procedures can take a couple of hours to several hours, leaving waiting family and friends sometimes hungry while they wait.

To make it a little easier, especially for those unfamiliar with the area coming in from out of town, here's a list (that almost hits each type of cuisine) of healthy and close options near AASC.

Tabouli's (Greek/Mediterranean | cost: $7- 12). This is a personal favorite for the AASC team. Just 3 minutes from AASC, this family owned and operated restaurant delivers fast and healthy fresh options. Diners will be in and out in under 20 minutes. Choose from beef or chicken shawarmas, hummus, Greek salads, and kebabs.

Jason's Deli (American/Sandwich | cost: $8-12 ). Located next to the Altamonte Mall, Jason's Deli is an easy choice. Conveniently call ahead to place your order (407-830-0699) before you head out to pick up your meal. It'll be ready when you arrive. Pick from soups and salads (and don't forget to grab your free soft-serve ice cream with every purchase).

Toojay's (Gourmet Deli | cost $7-15): Known for its generous portion sizes, a lunch from Toojay's can easily be shared. The best part is that it's right down the road (less than 2 min. away). Choose from sandwiches, soups, and decadent desserts (most famous for their carrot and chocolate cakes).

Pei Wei (Asian Fusion/Thai | cost: $7-15 ): You can call ahead for a pickup or go in. Service is typically fast, but like the other mentioned restaurants don't go right at 12 as it'll be lunch rush hour. Instead, opt to grab lunch closer to 11 am or closer to 2 pm so that you can avoid traffic and ensure you're not gone for too long. Pei Wei has a great variety of Asian chopped salads, pad thai, noodle bowls, lettuce wraps, and more.

Santiago's Bodega (Tapas | cost: $7-15 per generous tapa): This eclectic restaurant serves up a variety of individualized feasts, made with fine flavorful spices, that includes: spaghetti and meatballs, chicken skewers, sautéed Brussel sprouts, and more. Call ahead for faster service.

We hope the above list makes it a little less hectic for those that don't want to end up too far from the facility, but that need to grab a bite to eat during a loved one's surgery. Of course, if you need any advice on where to go our friendly AASC team will be able to point you in the right direction.
